Archive.org versionThe Asus R510J is priced at Rs. 69,990, which feels a bit steep considering you can get the updated R.O.G GL522JX with a faster hard drive, backlit keys, HD webcam and better CPU for a bit more. More than the specs however, you'll be getting a much better chassis, one that is actually built to withstand the heat these CPUs churn out. The R510J does have some good qualities like decent full-HD gaming performance, good looks, anti-glare display and good fit and finish of the chassis.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is a major Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer based in Taipei, founded in 1989. Under the Asus brand name, the company manufactures a wide range of products, including laptops, desktops, motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, smartphones and networking equipment, complete systems and PC components for end users.
Under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand name, ASUS manufactures gaming laptops known by gamers for their powerful specifications, dedicated graphics cards, high refresh rate displays and advanced cooling systems.
Beyond gaming, a wide range of notebooks are offered for different needs and budgets, from ultra-slim and lightweight ultrabooks to versatile 2-in-1 convertibles and budget-friendly options. In 2023, Asus had a 7% global market share of the PC market.
Customer satisfaction with ASUS notebooks concerns performance, the features, and the good price-performance ratio of ASUS notebooks. However, as with any brand, there are occasional reports of problems such as overheating, driver compatibility, or build quality issues.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge): In the mobile Ivy Bridge Celeron and Pentium CPUs integrated processor graphics card. The HD Graphics is the slower, GT1 called, part with less execution units (EUs) and only one texture sampler - compared to the GT2 HD Graphics 4000.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M: Upper mid-range graphics card from the GeForce GTX 800M series.
Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200:
Integrated graphics (GT3 + eDRAM) as found on certain Haswell CPUs. It is the fastest version in its family.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M: Mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GTX 900M series, based on the Maxwell architecture.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile: Mainstream graphics card based on Nvidia's Pascal architecture and successor to the GeForce GTX 960M. Is manufactured in a 14nm process at Samsung and the technical specifications are very similar to the desktop version.

Intel Pentium:
2117U: Ultra Low Voltage Dual-core processor based on the Ivy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. Due to the Pentium brand, many features of the Ivy Bridge core are deactivated.
Intel Core i5:
4200H:
Haswell-based dual-core processor clocked at 2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.4 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. Very high TDP (47 W).
6300HQ: Skylake-based quad-core processor for notebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 530 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4750HQ: An Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.2 GHz. Offers an integrated Iris Pro Graphics 5200 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.
6700HQ: Skylake-based quad-core processor for notebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 530 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
Intel Kaby Lake:
i7-7700HQ: Quad-core notebook processor based on the Kaby Lake architecture. Besides four CPU cores (including Hyper Threading), the chips also integrates the HD Graphics 630 GPU and is manufactured in an improved 14 nm process.
