Asus G750JX
The Asus G750JX is the latest in the Republic of Gamers line, so for this machine, it is all about performance. It is not a typical streamlined, light and thin machine, it is a 17 inch black behemoth with a subtle sheen that is designed to look like a stealth plane. Weighing in at 4.5 kg, this machine is desktop bound. Lugging it to too many LAN parties may leave users with a back problem. With its gorgeous full HD screen, Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M (3GB) graphics processor, and quad core 2.4GHz Core i7-4700HQ Haswell CPU, most games will blaze on at the native resolution. The highest settings on the most demanding games may be out of its reach though.
The full sized keyboard is comfortable, and gamers will appreciate the backlit keyboard. The placement of the arrow keys are ideal for gaming, as Asus positioned them far enough from the numpad that blindly reaching for the arrows won't have one pressing the wrong key, which is a plus for gamers. Audio quality is better than average, but headphones will still be needed for those who crave good quality audio. Performance-wise there are machines out there with better specs that can beat this machine. The battery life of this machine is better though, managing well over 4 hours of intensive use, beating out the competition by 2 hours. Overall this machine is a great choice for hardcore gamers on a tight budget.

Overall, the Asus is a superb gaming laptop. With the Blu-ray drive, it betters the Alienware 17 (its top competitor), but both seem expensive compared to other options on the market. A high-end gaming laptop may be a step too far for your wallet. But, if you can afford it, this is a superb buy.

Asus G750JW
The Asus G750JW-T4031 provides all the power you could want at a budget friendly price. The 17 inch Asus G750JW-T4031 is a heavy beast at 3.9kg, which puts it firmly in the desktop replacement category. The fourth generation Haswell Intel Core i7 4700HQ with 2.4 GHz is the best of what one could hope for at this price range. Its integrated Intel HD graphics and the powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M work efficiently and the Haswell architecture is used to save energy. So, the most demanding games can be played on highest settings, which is unbelievable considering the price. The glossy full HD 17.3 inch display is gorgeous and a subwoofer provides audio quality that is surprisingly good and loud for a laptop.
The Asus G750JW-T4031 is a gamer's delight, a media powerhouse, and a machine capable of some of the most intensive tasks. Those wanting to edit videos on a at least somewhat portable device will find this laptop desirable. What are the disadvantages? It is designed and built like a stealth plane: all matte black and rock solid. The only downside is the heaviness and thickness of the device. But, it does not at all appear like a downside considering performance for price.

The Asus Fighter Jet. Each iteration of the core Asus G Series gets better and better and the G750 series is no exception. The ROG branding has yet to let us down as we find out in this review what the new 2013 models bring aside from the obvious Haswell and GTX Kepler refreshes.

While the G750JW is an impractical laptop for everyday use, it’s a hugely capable gaming machine. It’s possible to spend more on models with Blu-ray drives, faster GPUs and other fripperies, but the G750JW strikes a sensible middle ground: there’s ample power for modern games, wrapped up in a burly chassis, at a price that compares well to rivals from Alienware. If you can live with the over-the-top styling, this laptop is highly recommended.

There’s no question about it: the ASUS G750JX-DB71 is a beast. It handles most modern games with relative ease, even managing High settings on most. It’s not as powerful as the MSI GT60 (thanks to its 780M), but it’s still among the best-performing mobile gaming rigs we’ve reviewed. And at a current street price of $1,899 (MSRP $2,000), it’s reasonable, too. So, it’s far from perfect, with two pretty considerable regressions from the previous ASUS ROG iterations. Still, if you can manage to look past these issues, the G750JX offers a lot to like. It’s extremely well-built, does a great job of keeping cool, and features better input devices than just about any of its competitors. It’s a great choice for gaming as long as you’ll be plugged in.

I'm really quite impressed with ASUS G750 ROG laptop. The stylish case is inspired by aircraft design and features a dual-fan design to keep system temperatures down and expand system longevity. One other thing that I really like about the G750 is that the system features that rubberized paint that is used on cell phones. It also adds a nice premium feel to the system. For a mere $1,900, you could pick up the G750 today and it would be an excellent choice.

The Asus G750 is the pinnacle of the company’s drive to produce mass-market gaming laptops with incredible power at an affordable price. There’s almost nothing wrong with this system, and the few downsides worth mentioning, like the matte display’s lack of visual depth, are balanced by other advantages. We could recommend this laptop even if its price was similar to the competition.

Affordable mobile gaming has always been kind of a hard thing to pull off. ASUS has a history of relatively affordable options thanks to its G series and the ROG G750JW continues that by producing a solid gaming system for around $1200. Solid is an appropriate description also of its size and weight as this is not a compact system meant for portability and that's its biggest drawback.

Asus G750JZ-XS72

This beast features the best graphics processor for laptops today with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 880M. It will not have any problems running the latest and most resource hungry games. The graphics card is accompanied by a 4th generation i7 processor, a whopping 32 GB of RAM and twin 256 GB SSD. Speed and performance will not be a problem with this device.
All that power is nothing without a good display. The Asus G750 comes with a 17.3-inch display with 1920 by 1080 resolution, displaying all your pictures, videos and games in glorious FullHD. Its matte anti-glare finish also ensures you don’t have to worry glare from a light source.
In addition, it features a Blu-ray burner to give more bang for your buck. Battery life is always a major concern with gaming laptops. But the G750 will give you great speed and performance when playing the most demanding games and also better battery life than many other 17-inch gaming laptops.

The ROG G750JZ-XS72 is a fine edition to Asus's reliably high-quality Republic of Gamers line, thanks to its quality construction, long battery life, and strong performance. But shoppers willing to spend $3,000 on a gaming laptop have plenty of options to choose from, from the more affordable Digital Storm Krypton, our Editors' Choice for midrange gaming laptops, to the powerhouse that is the Editors' Choice for high-end gaming laptops, the Origin EON17-SLX. All of these options mean that the Asus ROG G750JZ-XS72 is a very good gaming laptop, but it's one of many, failing to really distinguish itself, despite a generous feature set and solid performance.

All in all, it's easy to praise the G750JZ-XS72 (with, as we said, the mental reservation that those who don't need to burn DVDs and for whom 24GB of RAM is ample can save $500 by stepping down to the DS71). Probably in three years we'll be celebrating similar frame rates in something as svelte as an ultrabook, but for now, as long as you're shopping the superheavyweight gaming category, it's hard to do better.

This configuration is impressive, ranging from the 2.4GHz quad-core i7-4700HQ processor (Mobile Intel HM87 chipset), with 32GB of RAM and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M graphics card with 4GB of fast GDDR5 memory, along with two installed 128G SSDs (in RAID 0 mode) and a 1TB SATA drive at 7200RPM. WiFi and Bluetooth are also provided, and although high quality Killer Wireless-N 1202 controller is used, we would prefer a newer one that supports 802.11ac standard. This laptop leaves behind the competition and many desktop computers, and it is able to run the most demanding games in Full HD resolution. The Asus RoG G750JZ reprises most of last year's winning formula: an abundance of ports, a high-end build and a reserve of power that will run most any game with the settings on max. Unfortunately, it loses its fifth star due to much lower contrast, inferior sound quality and overheating.

The Asus G750JZ comes with a rather large power brick that even adds more kilograms to the whole package but keep in mind this particular notebook was not meant to be portable in the first place. Costing about $3000, it’s quite an expensive purchase, though less expensive options are available. Still, the Asus G750JZ screams in terms of performance and showcases decent battery life and is definitely worthy to carry the Republic of Gamers brand.

Gaming enthusiasts have no doubt heard of this notebook, made specifically for them to enjoy their tactical sessions to the fullest. It is purposefully designed to be solid and tough, with a thickness of around 50 mm and weight of 4.8 kg, meant to withstand the usual heavy jolts and shocks gamers apply to their keyboards. The screen is a large 17.3 inch. It features an anti-glare layer to enable gaming in any light.
The keyboard sports a backlight for those who love to play in dim light. The slanted surface will ease the strain on gamers' wrists during long gaming sessions. There are twin rear vented thermal fans to deal with the expected heat buildup from its 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7-4700HQ quad core processor. Other features that would definitely excite gamers include the 8 GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM and 1 TB, 2.5-inch 5400RPM hard drive.
Overall, it looks pretty nice and any gamer would be more than proud to lug it to a LAN party, or even a tournament. The only downside to the Asus G750JZ-T4110H is its high price, well out of the range of many students, or fresh graduates. Nevertheless, those passionate enough will definitely find the means to obtain this unique gamer-centric notebook.

There is no denying that the Asus ROG G750JZ laptop is a gaming powerhouse. The Intel Core i7 4860HQ and Nvidia’s powerful 8GB GTX 880M combine to produce a formidable pair that power the 17.3″ 1920×1080 display with solid frame rates. As powerful as the GTX 880M is, its performance has been undermined by Maxwell’s efficient and fast GTX 970M, in recent weeks. The latter produces higher frame rates on average, and it does so while consuming less power. That’s a testament to the speed at which graphics technology is moving in the mobile market.

The Asus G750JZ is an expensive gaming laptop, but if you want a machine that achieves the highest levels of performance that you can take to the occasional gaming event, the Asus G750JZ is the laptop for you. If you want something a little thinner, the Aorus X7 is a good alternative, being extremely sleek and powerful, even though it has two GeForce GTX 860M GPUs working in SLI mode.

For the most part, we were extremely impressed with the Asus ROG G750JZ. It’s by no means cheap, but it sports some of the finest mobile components money can buy, and for considerably less than similarly specified machines from rival brands such as Alienware. That said, we simply can’t excuse such a mediocre display on an £1,800 laptop. With a better display, the Asus ROG G750JZ would be a tour de force, but as it stands, we’d sacrifice all-out power and plump for the MSI GE70 2PE Apache Pro – it’s by far the better all-round machine.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
