The Asus F555LA is a solid value, offering good speakers, a sleek design and a full 1080p display for a fraction of the price of competitors' machines (some of which pack a lesser 1366 x 768 display). There are some trade-offs, notably a bouncy keyboard and a somewhat dim screen.

Allrounder. Asus sells their 15.6-inch allrounder-notebook for around 600 Euro (~$680). The F555UB can handle gaming and is capable of very decent battery run times. The display and the keyboard are not nearly as impressive.

The 15-inch Asus F555UA is a stylish notebook that offers strong performance for the price. We also appreciate the solid audio performance. However, the sub-1080p display and so-so keyboard detract from the user experience. If you want a big-screen notebook that's better for entertainment, you'll want to check out the full-HD screen on the HP Notebook 15, though its shallow keyboard isn't great, either.

Intel Core i3:
4010U:
Haswell-based ULV dual-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with no Turbo Boost support. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4400 and a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
5010U: Broadwell-based ULV (ultra low voltage) dual-core processor for notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 5500 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4510U: Haswell-based ULV dual-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.1 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4400 and a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
6500U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
Intel Core i5:
6200U: Skylake-based ULV dual-core processor for thin notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 520 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.

71.79%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
