Apple reportedly confirmed launch event for first touchscreen MacBook

Bloomberg already reported last week that a major Apple launch event is planned for Tuesday, October 27. Now Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman insists that Apple has begun inviting the first members of the press to a product launch experience on Wednesday, October 28. This event is expected to last all day, giving journalists the opportunity to try out the new products extensively.
Probably the most exciting product expected to be unveiled at this launch event is the next-generation MacBook Pro. Apple is reportedly continuing to use the Apple M5 Pro and M5 Max, which are already used in the current MacBook Pro ($2,499 on Amazon), but the laptop is expected to receive a new design for the first time since the launch of the models with Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max in 2021, making it somewhat thinner and significantly lighter. Apart from that, probably the biggest upgrade is the display, as Apple is reportedly not only using an OLED panel for the first time in the history of the Mac, but also adding a touchscreen for the first time.
While this next-generation MacBook Pro is likely to be even more expensive than the current model, Apple is rumored to also be unveiling cheaper Macs at this event, namely a 14-inch MacBook Pro with the familiar design and the Apple M6, as well as possibly an iMac with Apple M6. In addition, the launch of the first iPad mini with an OLED display is expected, though the tablet will reportedly get an outdated 60 Hz OLED panel.
