Apple Watch 2 and 3 units are eligible for a free screen replacement from Apple
Apple has reported that certain versions of its Watch are liable to a screen fault. Accordingly, it has instituted a recall program for the affected devices, in which the affected wearables will be repaired for free. It applies worldwide, yet may only be accessible in the same country as the one in which the product in question was purchased.
This recall covers those models of the Apple Watch 2 and 3, as well as the Watch 3 Nike+ edition, with an aluminium case. The 38- and 42-millimeter variants of both generations of these devices are included therein, as are Apple Watch 3 units that have cellular connectivity.
These smartwatches are subject to a defect in which a fissure may develop along the rounded edge of the display in some cases. Consumers who own an affected device may avail of their free screen replacement by arranging to have it sent to their nearest Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider. Alternatively, they could contact the company in order to mail it to its Repair Center directly. All other details on this recall can be found on this page.
