The AirPods Pro 2 are two months old today, but Amazon is already offering a sizeable discount in the US. Unsurprisingly, has not followed suit, with the AirPods Pro 2 still costing US$249 on its website. Conversely, Amazon US has reduced the earbuds to US$199.99, a 20% discount.
Theoretically, the reduction makes the AirPods Pro 2 as expensive as the Pixel Buds Pro. However, Google has dropped the price of its earbuds by an even wider margin, covered separately. Amazon is also running an offer on the AirPods Pro 2 with two years of AppleCare+, with the pair 5% and US$15 lower than their US$278 retail price. For context, a two-year AppleCare+ plan for AirPods Pro costs US$29.
In other words, buying the AirPods Pro 2 and AppleCare+ separately represents better value, should you want Apple’s insurance service. The AirPods Pro 2 represent a significant step up from the AirPods Pro, with reduced Bluetooth latency and various other improvements, including superior ANC. Please see Amazon’s product listing for full terms and conditions.
