Apex Legends is officially coming to the Epic Games Store on August 6

Apex Legends is coming to the Epic Games Store on August 6th, alongside the Season 22 update for the game. Epic talked about the same on their X/Twitter account, and they also sat down with Respawn Entertainment to look back on the evolution of the game so far.

Released on February 4, 2019, Apex Legends was a big hit on launch. Published by Electronic Arts, the free-to-play battle royale quickly amassed a huge player base, separating itself from competitors like PUBG and Fortnite with its hero-shooter elements and fast-paced, squad-based gameplay.

Within a month of its launch, Apex Legends already had a player base of 50 million players, making it a major name in the battle royale genre. The game's consistent audience can be attributed to its frequent updates, introducing new Legends, maps, weapons, and game modes.

Starting with Season 22, the Battle Pass will be divided into two splits, each with its own 60-level progression. While split 1 starts on the 6th of August, split two will start later in September. Players can earn the first Premium Battle Pass for free by completing in-game challenges. Subsequent Battle Passes can be purchased for 950 Apex Coins. The revamped Battle Pass offers increased rewards, including more Apex Coins, crafting materials, and higher-tier cosmetic items. A new Premium+ tier will be introduced, providing additional benefits such as exclusive skins and access to all Legends for an extended period as well.
