Anbernic has shared new details about its upcoming wireless controller release. Rivalling the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless, Manba One V2 or the GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro, among others, the new controller will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 out of the box and contains a few other distinguishing features too, like swappable faceplates. The RG G01 will come in three colours at launch.

Anbernic has shared new details about its next wireless controller release. Also the first device that Anbernic has presented in 2026, the RG G01 follows on from the RG P01 that launched around eighteen months ago (curr. $24.99 on Amazon).

In summary, the RG P01 was a budget wireless controller. By contrast, Anbernic's new official promotional video underlines that the RG G01 takes aim at high-end options like the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless, Manba One V2 or the GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro. In summary, the Anbernic RG G01 features the following hardware:

  • 4x programmable rear macro buttons
  • 6-axis gyroscope
  • 180 Hz Bluetooth polling rate
  • 1000 Hz wired and 2.4 GHz polling rate
  • Asymmetric pendulum vibration motors
  • Capacitive joysticks with interchangeable thumbsticks
  • Hall effect triggers with Linear/Tactile modes
  • Micro switch ABXY buttons (Xbox layout)
  • Removeable faceplate

Additionally, Anbernic has included a 2,100 mAh battery that promises to deliver up to 21 hours of gameplay between charges. Anbernic has clarified that the RG G01 can warn of abnormal heart rates, which it will deliver via its small IPS display. The RG G01 supports Switch and Switch 2 consoles too, as well as Android, iOS, Linux and Windows. While a release date escapes Anbernic's promotional video, we suspect it will start selling the RG G01 in February 2026.
