Anbernic RG 55G1: price and release date revealed for Switch Lite-like handheld

A  few days ago, Anbernic shared the full specifications of its new handheld, the RG 55G1 in an unboxing video. The handheld has also made it to the hands of reviewers, which was a hint that it's about to launch. Today, Anbernic has revealed the pricing and availability details of the device, which has a design that closely resembles the Nintendo Switch Lite.

The Anbernic RG 55G1 will launch on August 31 as the brand's first handheld to be powered by a Snapdragon processor, the same one inside the Retroid Pocket Classic (available on Amazon for $179). As reported previously, it will be available in two configurations — a 4GB RAM + 64GB version and an 8GB RAM version with 128GB of storage — and for colors, buyers get to choose from either Black, Indigo, and Retro Gray.

As Anbernic is known to do, buyers will be able to purchase the handheld with or without a microSD card. It has also announced that there will be a $10 discount for the first 3 days. Below are the prices for the Anbernic RG 55G1 (without the discount):

• 4GB RAM + 64GB = $149.99
• 4GB RAM + 64GB + 128GB microSD card = $179.99
• 4GB RAM + 64GB + 256GB microSD card = $199.99
• 8GB RAM + 128GB = $174.99
• 8GB RAM + 128GB + 128GB microSD card = $204.99
• 8GB RAM + 128GB + 256GB microSD card = $224.99

The Anbernic RG 55G1 will come with a USB charging cable as the only accessory in the box, but buyers can also purchase a carrying case, which has an inner pocket for $9.99. The bag is available in black, but like the handheld, it is not available to buy yet, but should be available on August 31.
