Amazon Prime Video introduces Ads beginning January 29
Starting January 29th, Amazon Prime Video will incorporate limited ads into its streaming service for U.S. users who opt not to pay an extra subscription fee (with the date for the U.K. users set to February 5th). Amazon Prime users currently pay $14.99 per month or $139 annually, while a standalone Prime Video subscription costs $8.99 per month. With the new ad-free streaming fee, the total cost for Prime would be just under $18, and solo Prime Video would be slightly under $12.
Amazon Prime users who prefer an ad-free experience can choose to pay an additional $2.99 per month for a commercial-free subscription. According to Amazon's statement to its customers, limited ad interruptions will commence for Prime Video subscribers on January 29. The $8.99/month standalone Prime Video subscription will also include advertisements from the same date.
Other streaming services like Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, and Peacock, already offer ad-supported subscription options alongside pricier ad-free alternatives.
The Amazon.com eGift Card provides a versatile option to kickstart your own streaming subscription or gift the opportunity to someone else. With prices starting from $25, it offers a flexible and convenient way to access a variety of streaming services such as the Amazon Prime Video.
