Microsoft introduces Copilot Pro subscription for 22 euros per month

In the longer term, the IT giant naturally wants to increase the number of paying customers. This is why Microsoft is now creating a paid version of its AI assistant Copilot.

With the introduction of the free app, Microsoft's Copilot has become quite popular, with the company itself reporting over 5 billion chats and over 5 billion generated images. The company is evaluating the feedback collected through use to the effect that power users and creative professionals, in particular, allegedly want more functions and deeper integration of artificial intelligence in software such as Office365.

The premium subscription Copilot Pro costs 22 euros (20 US dollars) per month, which more or less is the same price as the OpenAI service ChatGPT Plus, which has also been launched. This makes Copilot available to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers and also offers enhanced functions and better performance, similar to its competitor (and partner at the same time).

Copilot Pro is available from today. Microsoft lists five specific advantages of the premium model in detail:

1. The AI runs across devices (e.g. PC and smartphone) and then remembers conversations and information provided across device boundaries.
2. Microsoft 365 Single and Family subscribers get access to the AI in apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on their PC, Mac or iPad.
3. Unlike users of the free version, subscribers get access to the latest models: in this case, ChatGPT 4.0 Turbo. This should also be the case at peak times.
4. The image generation via AI should be of a higher quality level. The resolution is higher, and the generation is faster.
5. Another option that ChatGPT has long since integrated will soon be available in the form of Copilot GPT Builder: The creation of your own Copilot GPT, customized to your own specific needs.
