All-white X870 WiFi 7 motherboard launches with USB4 and 5GbE LAN at a mid-range price

Sapphire has officially launched its next-generation AM5 motherboard, the Pure X870A WiFi 7, designed for gamers and modern PC builders. The standout feature here is the striking "all-white" design with extreme memory support.
The average gaming motherboard, like the Biostar X870E Valkyrie, comes in a dark colorway and sports an uninspiring set of interfaces as well as overclocking capabilities.
This is where the Pure X870A motherboard comes in. Sapphire has introduced a 16+2+1 phase VRM design apparently capable of delivering 55A per phase for stable CPU power delivery. The motherboard also supports up to 256GB of dual-channel DDR5 memory, with speeds reaching up to 8400 MHz (OC) for high-performance desktop builds.
The enhanced power delivery circuitry is mated to dedicated heatsinks for the VRM, M.2 storage, and chipset, giving some extra stability when the system is under stress. This could really help out folks running setups such as those featuring the latest high-end AMD processors like the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X for intense gaming or streaming workloads.
Connectivity-wise, the board packs Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and Realtek-powered 5Gbit Ethernet, while the USB 4.0 Type-C port delivers 40Gbps bandwidth, DisplayPort Alt Mode, and 15W Power Delivery.
On top of that, the product’s got a multi-color debug LED and Sapphire Core BIOS to handle complex tuning needs. There's also the TriXX-M software for Windows; all this should give gamers and creators the room to really push their high-end gear, including monitoring performance and customizing lighting.
Sapphire's Pure X870A WIFI 7 motherboard is set to be available through authorized partners worldwide, with an MSRP of $249 USD.
On paper, the features look all well and good, but companies usually cut corners to make their products cheaper than their competitors, and this time is no different, because instead of newer audio codecs like the Realtek ALC4080 or Realtek ALC4082, you will be stuck with the older Realtek ALC897. On top of that, for folks running setups that demand a massive number of PCIe lanes for multiple add-in cards, that single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot can feel a bit limiting.
