ASRock X600TM-ITX launches as the first Thin Mini-ITX motherboard with AMD Ryzen 9000 series CPU support
ASRock has introduced the X600TM-ITX motherboard with support for AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors. It's the first AM5 board of its kind, but that's not the only interesting thing about it. ASRock says that it has a "Thin" Mini-ITX form factor, which generally has an I/O shield height of 25 mm.
To compare, regular Mini-ITX boards have 44 mm I/O shield height. Another aspect that's different from the standard Mini-ITX motherboards is that the ASRock X600TM-ITX uses SODIMM memory and has support for onboard power supply. So, you will not need a dedicated ATX power supply, making the board a good pick for a DIY mini PC.
As for the PCIe slots, there aren't any for a discrete GPU. So, if you are looking to build a small computer that's capable of handling AAA games without any issues, this board isn't for you. The good news is that most of the AM5 processors have an iGPU, and if you happen to pair the board with a higher-end CPU, the system should be able to run most games at low settings.
That said, ASRock says that the X600TM-ITX motherboard is mainly for building HTPCs, which have been a dying breed after mini PCs started to get popular (Beelink SER7 curr. $599.20 on Amazon). But with this board, you will get more flexibility, including the option to upgrade the CPU in the long run.
The company hasn't said anything about the pricing and availability yet, but it did confirm there will be different variants available.
