Affordable Dangbei projector launches with compact design and built-in speaker

Dangbei has introduced a handful of new projectors in China, and the C5 Pro is one of them. It's being positioned as an affordable projector that seems good enough for those who are not looking for a high-end setup.

The brightness rating of C5 Pro stands at 600 CVIA lumens, and while that doesn't make it bright enough for general use, it's good enough for a bedroom setup. This brightness rating can also be considered ideal for a proper theatre setup, but only if it's in a dark room.

It features the TCL CSOT display, which is said to offer a native 1080p projection resolution. While there's a dedicated game mode, Dangbei doesn't mention the refresh rate, suggesting that it's a standard 60Hz projector. The company, however, mentions that the gaming mode can lower latency.

Under the hood, there's the MT9 chipset, which is paired with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The latter can be expanded through the built-in USB port (WD 2TB Elements curr. $134.95 on Amazon). There's support for AirPlay, Miracast, and DLAN, and users can also use the HDMI port to connect the projector to a preferred device.

Another highlight of the projector is that while it has a small form factor, it features an integrated "10W" speaker, and it should be good enough for a bedroom setup. Other highlights include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and auto adjustments through the built-in ToF sensor.

In China, the Dangbei C5 Pro has a launch price of CNY 1,099, about $164, but it's set to retail at CNY 1,499, around $223. Given that the company has a good global presence, this compact projector is expected to land outside the Chinese market soon.
