The portable SD700 external ADATA SSD has been certified under the IP68 standard for dust and water resistance of up to a depth of 1.5 meters for one hour. The protective casing makes the SSD resistant to falls while still being durable enough to survive MIL-STD-810G516.6 shock tests.
Core specifications include:
- Read and write up to 440 MB/s and 430 MB/s, respectively.
- Windows, Mac OS, and Android plug-and-play compatibility
- 3D TLC NAND Flash
- USB 3.1 Gen. 1 port
- 128/256/512 GB capacities
- 83.5 x 83.5 x 13.9 mm
- 100 g
No external power source is required to use the SD700 other than from the main system it is connecting to. The size of the drive suggests that it is of an M.2 form factor not unlike the recent Plextor EX1.
Two colors will be made available at launch including jet black or a combination of black and yellow. The 128 GB will retail for 120 Euros, although current 256 GB and 512 GB models on Amazon are selling in the $200 USD to $400 USD range with a December ship date. ADATA is promising a 1 TB version coming soon.
