The Acer Swift 16 Go AI is a productivity laptop that doesn't live up to its full potential. Despite a solid design, decent components, and a reasonable price, nothing about the machine stands out from rival laptops. Some of its competitors are thinner, lighter, and cheaper, and most of them offer better performance. For example, if you need an even lighter laptop with a crisp 3K OLED, the Asus Zenbook A16 is the way to go.

Look, this laptop isn’t particularly special. There’s very little about it that you’ll want to show off to your friends. It’s just a decent all-around laptop that’s abysmal for 3D graphics and suffers when you unplug it. That said, the Acer Swift Go 16 AI includes a decent keyboard and webcam. It’ll work fine for basic Microsoft Office work, too. I’d actually recommend the Acer Aspire 16 AI as an alternative.

The Swift Go 16 AI could be described as slightly disappointing. Its processor doesn't live up to AMD's billing, while the screen lacks the brightness and resolution we've seen on Acer's best OLED displays. However, at £1249 inc VAT it's still decent value. The MSI Prestige 16 AI+ is better, with more performance, more RAM, and a higher-resolution screen for the same money, but if you can get a good deal on the Acer, it could make a solid and versatile workhorse laptop with the advantages of a big display.

The Acer Swift Go 16 AI SFG16-A71 is an attractive, well-equipped, and relatively uncommon option in the 16-inch ultrabook segment. It combines features that are often scattered across competing models: a large OLED display, a lightweight 1.6 kg chassis, Wi-Fi 7, USB4, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 Ethernet, a microSD card reader, a high-quality 5 MP infrared camera, and full readiness for the Copilot+ PC platform.

AMD Radeon 840M: A fairly powerful RDNA 3.5 architecture iGPU that debuted in early 2025 and a direct successor to the Radeon 760M. Its 8 CUs/WGPs (512 unified shaders) run at up to 3 GHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, AI image generation and other modern features are all supported here, as are many popular video codecs including first and foremost AVC, HEVC, VP9 and AV1. Its gaming performance is good enough for playing 2024 games in low graphics settings.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
