Archive.org versionOverall the Acer Predator 17 X is an impressive gaming rig that has plenty to offer people interested in VR games. Sure, this isn’t a budget gaming PC, but there are many notebooks in the same $2,500-$3,000 price range that can’t power the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. If you’re serious about using a notebook with a VR headset then this is one of the most affordable VR-ready gaming notebooks you’ll find this holiday season.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores.
