CES 2023 | Acer Nitro 17 unveiled with a 165 Hz QHD screen and Intel Raptor Lake-HX processors ^↺

Nvidia and Intel had plenty of products to announce at CES 2023. OEMs followed suit shortly after, strutting their stuff fitted with their new hardware. Acer has now joined the Raptor Lake and Ada Lovelace mobile hype train with its new Nitro 17 gaming laptop. As its name suggests, the Acer Nitro 17 packs a 17.3-inch IPS LCD panel. It is available in FHD 165 Hz, QHD 165 Hz or FHD 144 Hz configurations. The panel has a response time of 3 nm and supports Nvidia's Advanced Optimus tech.

Under the hood, the Acer Nitro 17 packs Intel's shiny new Raptor Lake Core i7 HX processors, with Core i5 options also up for grabs. The exact SKU isn't mentioned, but it is probably the Core i7-13700HX or Core i7-13650HX. Acer also neglects to mention the graphics card options, but the laptops will be configurable with Nvidia's new RTX 4000 graphics cards. Memory and storage options for the Acer Nitro 17 max out at 32 GB of DDR5 4,800 RAM and a 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD. Both components are user expandable and can be accessed easily.

Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth. Other specs include an 81% screen-to-body ratio and an RGB 4-zone backlit keyboard. The Acer Nitro 17 offers a wide selection of I/O, including two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, an RJ45 Ethernet jack, three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port and a micro SD card reader. The laptop weighs 3 kilograms and comes with a one-month Xbox Game Pass subscription. One can purchase the laptop in North America and EMEA starting in May 2023 for US$1,250 and EUR 1,600, respectively.
