CES 2023 | ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED: 2023 model showcased with design and hardware changes

ASUS has revealed a new version of the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED, the last version of which we reviewed in December. While that model topped out at 140 W for its CPU and GPU, this year's edition peaks at 155 W. According to ASUS, the laptop will be available with up to an Intel Core i9-13905H processor and undisclosed GeForce RTX 4000 series CPUs that will default to NVIDIA Studio drivers.

Additionally, the new Zenbook Pro 16X OLED has a 3.2K display, down from the 4K resolution its predecessor offered. Still, the refresh rate has doubled to 120 Hz and remains an OLED panel. Incidentally, the 16-inch display has a 16:10 aspect ratio and covers 100% of DCI-P3 colour space. Moreover, the display supports the ASUS Pen 2.0 and is complemented by the company's digital number pad. For reference, ASUS claims that the latter is the world's first with haptic feedback, while also being 84% larger than last year's equivalent.

ASUS has not announced pricing or availability yet, but it has detailed other specifications. Namely, the new Zenbook Pro 16X OLED will be configurable with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Furthermore, all configurations contain a 96 Wh battery, 6 speakers and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. A full HDMI 2.1 port also ships with the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED, unlike the new Zenbook 14X OLED that ASUS announced today too.
