MSI has unveiled several new gaming and creator laptops at CES 2023. Among them, the MSI Stealth 17 Studio stands out for its unique design and top-shelf specifications. It is chock full of high-end features and can double up as a gaming and productivity beast when required. As expected, it comes with an eye-watering price tag, with the base variant retailing at US$2,799. One can purchase it in the United States starting in the first week of February.
The MSI Stealth 17 Studio offers two screen configurations, 17.3-inch UHD (3,840 x 2,160) 144 Hz mini LED (HDR 1000 compliant and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space). The other scales the resolution down to QHD (2,560 x 1,440), ups the refresh rate to 240 Hz, and uses an IPS panel.MSI doesn't offer much in the way of CPU choices for the Stealth 17 Studio.
One can pick between an Intel Core i9-13900H or Core i7-13700H. An HX class processor would have been ideal, but MSI has likely reserved them for higher-end offerings. For the graphics card, one can pick an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, RTX 4080, RTX 4070 and RTX 4060. MSI has also thrown in a Windows Hello-enabled webcam and a privacy shutter.
System memory on the MSI Stealth 17 Studio maxes out at 64 GB of DDR5 5,200 RAM and storage at 2 TB (NVMe SSD). The laptop comes with one Thunderbolt 4.0 port, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, one Killer RJ45 Ethernet jack and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It draws power from a 99.9 Wh battery and comes with a 240 Watt power brick Portability could be an issue due to it weighing 2.8 kilograms.
