More bang for your buck? Acer slips in a completely new device somewhere between Aspire, Nitro, and Predator. The new Aspire VX is equipped with the GTX 1050 Ti GPU as well as the new i7-7700HQ CPU and represents Acer's entry-level gaming model.

It’s all about performance and the latest generation Pascal GPU and Intel’s 7th Generation Kaby Lake processors here. The notebook packs impressive specs for the asking price and delivering performance that cannot be matched by last year’s entry-level and mid-range gaming laptops with GTX 960M like the Aspire V 15 Nitro Black Edition, the Lenovo Y700 or the ASUS ROG GL552VW, which all happen to be priced just around the VX 15. Even from a design standpoint, the chassis appears to be sturdy, well-built and doesn’t go too far from what the industry offers right now. But what the Aspire VX 15 doesn’t have, which the others do, is the IPS panel.

The Acer Aspire VX 15 might not be the most feature-rich gaming laptop out there, but for the asking price, it’s really tough to beat. The CPU and GPU inside are powerful enough to handle many of today’s games at 1080p with ease and should have some leg room for future titles too. The cherry on the top is that all this power will cost you just Rs. 87,999, maybe even lesser on online stores. It also offers much better value compared to the MSI GP62 7RD Leopard Pro gaming laptop we recently tested, which shares pretty much the same guts as the VX 15.

The Aspire VX 15 is a competent gaming laptop and is good value at £900, with solid Full HD gaming performance and an attractive, albeit gamer-focused, design. However, it’s let down by its screen and battery life, plus it’s saddled with a small SSD. The £900 version of the Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming is, for me, a better deal. But keep an eye out for special offers on the Acer, because any price cuts will make this a good-value machine.

The Acer Aspire VX 15 is a solid budget gaming notebook despite its rock-bottom price of $800, but the corners it cut to get to that price are quite annoying. The screen is dull, and there's just not enough room to hold a lot of games until you get to a more expensive configuration (unless you send away for a mounting kit and buy another drive). However, it lasts long for a gaming notebook, has a comfortable keyboard and even looks spiffy.

Everything connected to the laptop’s interior is identical to the GTX 1050 model. The battery life is insignificantly lower when surfing the Internet and video playback, and what surprised us was the better gaming performance despite the more powerful GPU integrated into the device. From a temperature management point of view, Acer has done an excellent job. We noticed thermal CPU throttling in the stress tests only and the frequency didn’t fall below the base 2.8 GHz. The GPU, in turn, didn’t register a drop in the core frequency at all. Acer has definitely made a step forward with Aspire VX 15 (VX5-591G, IPS), as the model is one of the best featuring NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

Limited fun. Actually, Acer's new multimedia laptop designed for gaming is convincing in most aspects - only that the conventional hard drive does not really match to the high-performance technology and it really slowed things down in the test. We recommend opting for another version or retrofitting it with an SSD.

The Acer Aspire VX 15 is a rather modest gaming machine for those who prefer not to shout for attention. It’s a solid performer, aside from a few minor issues. The low amount of memory on the base model certainly throws a dark cloud over this review. It is, however, easily remedied and shouldn’t come between someone who is interested in the machine.

Aspire VX 15 also boasts strategically placed stronger 802.11ac antenna for better Wi-Fi reception; alternatively, you can use the integrated Gigabit Ethernet port. The laptop runs Windows 10 OS and while many companies pre-load a lot of unnecessary software, the Aspire VX 15, in comparison, is much better. We could find two apps pre-installed on the device.

Acer Aspire VX 15 (VX5-591G-75RM) is a solid gaming laptop for players out there. Its graphics card, the GTX 1050 Ti, is admittedly not the cream of the crop, but still enough for Full HD gaming and keeping that eye candy high on most games. If you want absolutely the best performance for Triple A games, you should choose another model, but also be prepared to pay hundreds more! Currently, the Acer is a good enough rig for any gamer wanting to spend some quality time with his (or her) digital hobby.

The Aspire VX 15 is a value gaming PC with plenty of bold design flourishes that gamers seem to love. There’s none of the smart aluminium you’ll see in an Alienware 15, but as usual Acer’s plastic build feels very solid. A competent cooling system, usable keyboard and decent (for the price) performance add up to a solid buy. There are two problems. An uninspiring trackpad isn’t necessarily a big deal when you’ll want to plug-in a mouse a lot of the time anyway, but the poor screen really isn't ideal. Bad contrast and weak colours won’t make your games look great, although the rival Dell Inspiron 7000 Gaming suffers from exactly the same problem.

It's a shame a better panel isn't available as an option, as the Aspire VX 15 offers a full-size, backlit keyboard, capable everyday performance, a good selection of I/O ports and over eight hours of battery life. Casual gamers may be willing to accept the limitations of the GPU, but for most the middling display will be one compromise too far.

The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop is an all-around excellent deal except for one key component: the display. The VX 15's wins here, but not by much. The Dell is horrible off-angle, so you have to find a sweet spot and stay in it and even then it's still washed-out-looking. The Acer's IPS panel is much better for off-angle viewing, though it too looks washed out. It's also not very bright. Still, I'd take this over the Dell. (Note: Some regions use a TN panel on the VX 15 instead of the IPS panel on the US version.)

Currently, there aren’t too many cheaper gaming laptops than Acer Aspire VX 15 VX5-591G-5652. It gives you nice entry-level performance with the Core i5 processor and GeForce GTX 1050. But keep in mind the graphics card here is a budget engine, meaning you have to proceed with low settings if you have a graphics-heavy game at hand. In other regards the notebook is decent, having fast DDR4 memory and a solid-state drive in it. If you are on a tight budget, you would probably find the Acer Aspire VX 15 an adequate gaming laptop.

And if your budget peaks at $799, the Aspire VX 15 seen here gets our unqualified recommendation. It'll breeze through productivity tasks all day and give you solid if not spectacular gaming after hours—easily clearing 30fps, and with some games and settings surpassing the 60fps that players seek from deluxe gaming rigs. It's an easy Editors' Choice in what we earlier called the hottest laptop category.

Well, the VX5-591G is a good package of performance and good basic features (keyboard, speakers). It doesn’t have a lot of niceties though – no mDP port, not even an HDMI 2.0! (so no 4K@60FPS), no Thunderbolt 3 (but it does have USB 3.1 gen1 Type-C). So, the VX5-591G is a nice laptop, but the 7567 provides a comparable option, only one that is more comfortable to walk with in public (again, in my opinion).

Acer: In 1976, the company was founded in Taiwan under the name Multitech and was renamed Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.
Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
77.66%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
