A practical hybrid at an attractive price, but its difficulties handling Windows 10 means you’re better off looking elsewhere.

My one gripe is the lack of immediacy once you click or touch an icon you get the chance think it has not worked before things start to occur. However for a notebook/tablet it’s a good price.

The Acer Aspire R11 makes a decent little low-cost, portable laptop with a fanless design, and it offers performance that’s a little better than most systems you would have been able to find a year ago in this price range. The Pentium N3700 Braswell chip offers a bit of a performance boost over the Bay Trail chips it replaces, and the notebook offers decent battery life, fast WiFi connection speeds.

The Acer Aspire R11 multi-form laptop benefits from being that bit bigger than something like the older Acer Switch 10. It's much more comfortable to use for a good few hours of typing, browsing, or whatever needs doing. But despite this, Acer has really dropped the ball with the screen. The R11's poor viewing angles feel entirely mis-matched for a product designed with a 360-degree hinge.

The Aspire R11 is overall a great machine for the little money you'd be paying for it. It offers speedy Braswell hardware and long battery life in a sturdy built shell. It's also a 2-in-1. And yes, corners were cut with the panel or keyboard quality, among others, but for $249 you won't find a better similar device right now.

Cute top-seller. Acer's little 11-inch convertible features a new Braswell CPU and a 360-degree hinge. However, contrary to the manufacturer's touting, the Aspire R11 is not a jack of all trades.

The laptop's speakers use 'paper diaphragm' technology, which is designed to create a minimal amount of distortion when playing high-frequency sounds at maximum volume. We were genuinely impressed with the speakers in our tests; even once we cranked the volume up to 100%, we heard no distortion whatsoever in both music and dialogue, which is a serious feat for such a small laptop. Unsurprisingly, these small speakers still can't handle low-frequency sounds so if you want to hear every explosion and every bass drum beat, you'll need headphones or external speakers.

Acer Aspire R3-131T-P3UF
The Acer Aspire R3-131T-P3UF is a 2-in-1 convertible touch notebook. Convertible touch notebooks allow transition between touch and type control on the same device. It offers flexibility on a budget for professionals or travelers. The Aspire R3 fits well in this category but it doesn't look the path. It looks more like a funky laptop-tablet for students. In terms of looks and build quality, it doesn't really compete with the usual convertible laptops out there which can look more like a business device. It comes closer to the Dell Inspiron 11 series which also is a convertible but is mainly aimed at student. The Acer Aspire R3-131T-P3UF measures at 298 x 21 x 211 mm and weighs at 1.6 kg. It is far from a sleek device. The convertible notebook is available in two colors, which are blue and black. Its permanently installed lithium polymer battery with 4-cell and 3270 mAh is capable of delivering up to 8 hours of battery life. The Acer Aspire R3-131T-P3UF comes with a decent hardware specification. It features an Intel Pentium N3710 processor, 4 GB of RAM, an Intel HD Graphics and a 128 GB SSD. The RAM of the convertible notebook can be upgraded to a maximum of 8 GB. Its 11-inch Acer CineCrystal LED touchscreen features an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It is a glare display for high contrast and brilliant colors. However, it reflects environmental lighting, which might be inconvenient for travelers to use outdoors. A 360 degree dual-torque hinge allows easy converting with one hand. For convenience in cooperation and sharing, the notebook can be laid on at flat 180 degree to have multiple people inputting at the same time. However, the hinge isn't as strong as one would want it to be. It does flex a little bit. The Windows 10 64-bit Home edition system has a recovery partition for convenience in creating recovery DVDs with Acer eRecovery. As for entertainment and communication purpose, it has an Acer Crystal Eye 1.3 MP HD webcam built in for video calling. The webcam is capable of capturing 720p video at 30 fps. Furthermore, it has two stereo speakers and a microphone built in. The Aspire comes with an Acer FineTip keyboard and a precision touchpad with multi-gesture support. The convertible notebook has Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 - M.2 Card installed which provides Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless networking. For input and output interfaces, it features a USB 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 port and HDMI port for external display. The Acer Aspire R3 series consists of good entry level convertible laptops priced very reasonably for students. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

71.63%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
