Reviews for the Acer Aspire 1 A115-32-C96U

Acer Aspire 1 A115-32-C96U Review
Source: Digit week English
The Acer Aspire 1 A115-32-C96U is good value for the price and offers a few surprises and standout features including a 1080p screen. But then, that’s not what most people are looking for in their sub-$300 machine. It features a fine typing experience, a solid Full HD IPS display, and strong all-day battery life, this is the ideal laptop for those looking for some stamina to run lighter tasks without breaking the bank. It’s not the slickest laptop on the market, even within its modest price bracket – competitors like the Lenovo Ideapad 1i (2023) offer excellent bang for the buck. But if you spend most of your working day in Word, Excel, Chrome, and Mail, and often find yourself working away from a power socket while completing such undemanding tasks, the Acer Aspire 1 A115-32-C96U is value you can’t beat out there.

The Acer Aspire 1 A115-32-C96U is an affordable laptop that delivers decent performance on basic tasks and almost all-day battery life and a comfortable keyboard. It’s not the slickest laptop on the market, even within its modest price bracket but it still stands out from the increasingly overstuffed sub-$300 field.

Intel UHD Graphics (Jasper Lake 16 EU): Integrated graphics card in Intel Jasper Lake Celeron entry level models based on the Gen. 11 architecture. Offers 16 of the 32 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model ranging from 350 MHz base to 800 MHz boost. The Jasper Lake chips are produced in the 10nm process at Intel produced (similar to Ice Lake).

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Celeron N4500: Low power dual-core SoC from the Jasper Lake series for inexpensive notebooks. Runs with clocks between 1.1 - 2.8 GHz and integrates a DirectX 12 capable graphics adapter with 16 EUs and up 750 MHz. The CPU cores are smaller and slower than in the Core CPUs (e.g. Ice Lake) but manufactured on the same 10nm process.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

15.60":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

Acer: In 1976, the company was founded in Taiwan under the name Multitech and was renamed Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.

Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.

76%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
