Asus's latest RTX 5090 GPU is not one you can simply buy or even pick up from a shelf with ease. This is not the first luxury item from the Taiwanese brand however, which has also released a Middle Eastern exclusive gold edition for approximately $ 7,000 previously.

For those not aware of price gouging and scaling that continues to plague the RTX 5090, Asus’s latest hardware showcase might just sound like a poorly planned April Fool’s joke.

Sadly for those of us who are following the news, it seems that you can now get your RTX 5090 at an absurdly high price tag that should essentially guarantee you exclusivity.
The company has unveiled what can only be described as the most expensive Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 at Bilibili World 2025 in China. The RTX 5090 ROG Astral Gold Edition can be yours for only an estimated $500,000 if your credit card allows for it.

Unlike Asus’s previous gold-themed release, the RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition, which featured a coating of 6.5 grams of 24-karat gold, costing buyers a cool 25,000 AED (~$6800), this pulls out all the stops when it comes to the gold component in play.
To provide context, the Dhahab variant uses a measly $700 of gold, while the new ‘exclusive’ RTX 5090 throws in an approximate $500,000 in gold into the mix, with each kilogram costing a cool $100,000.

The GPU shroud is made up of 5kg or 11 pounds of pure 24-karat gold, upping the weight of the GPU to 7.2kg or 15.9 pounds. To put things into perspective, most RTX 5090 GPUs weigh anywhere from 2.5 to 3.0 Kg, making Asus’s newest showcase GPU 3 times heavier.

Despite Nvidia’s retail MSRP for the RTX 5090 being advertised at $1,999, market prices of the GPU hover around $3,000 to $4,000 due to current supply constraints. Even with that in play, the ROG Astral Gold Edition is worth anywhere between 125 to 250 times more than a standard RTX 5090, assuming the estimated $500,000 price tag holds.

Asus’s primarily-for-publicity GPU bears the core specs of 32 GB of GDDR7 memory, 21,760 CUDA cores, and a quad-fan design that mirrors the standard ROG Astral RTX 5090 in terms of looks for the most part. Oh, and if you are still interested, it also plays games as flagship GPUs used to in the not-so-distant past.
