ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED: New UX3405 model introduced with Intel Core Ultra processors and 120 Hz OLED display
ASUS has refreshed the Zenbook 14 OLED, a compact laptop that has moved on from the Intel Raptor Lake series processors in which it was previously available. This time, ASUS has decided to offer the Zenbook 14 OLED with various Meteor Lake parts, eschewing their Raptor Lake Refresh siblings. Specifically, ASUS will sell the new model with the following processor options:
- Intel Core Ultra 5 125H
- Intel Core Ultra 7 155H
- Intel Core Ultra 9 185H
While all will be powerful solutions, the Core Ultra 7 155H and Core Ultra 9 185H feature six performance cores, eight efficiency cores and Intel Arc iGPUs that contain 128 Execution Units (8 Xe cores). Additionally, the new Zenbook 14 OLED will be configurable with up to 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage and 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM clocked at 7,467 MT/s. Moreover, ASUS has equipped all SKUs with 75 Wh batteries that they can recharge at 65 W via their USB Type-C ports.
Supposedly, the combination of a 75 Wh battery and Intel Meteor Lake processors should provide up to 15 hours of battery life. However, these are official estimates that are unlikely to be reflected in real-world usage. Please note that not all SKUs feature a 2.8K and 120 Hz OLED display. Although this 2,880 x 1,800-pixel and 600 nit panel is present in high-end configurations, ASUS ships the Zenbook 14 OLED with a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel and 60 Hz option by default.
Conversely, all models feature the same I/O, including two Thunderbolt 4 connections. Also, ASUS has included a 3.5 mm jack, plus single HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. The Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405) is already available to pre-order in the Eurozone for prices starting at €1,499. Please see ASUS' website for more details.
