ARC Raiders stays on course: New Flashpoint update arrives on March 31

One of the most exciting additions in the update is the new “ARC Operations” category. The first of these major map conditions, called “Close Scrutiny,” significantly changes the flow of a match: there is less regular loot on the map, but players can hunt down a particularly powerful ARC target known as the Assessor, which promises valuable rewards. It is accompanied by strong ARC patrols. According to Embark, the operation is specifically aimed at well-equipped raiders.
Flashpoint also improves crafting. Missing materials can now be replenished more directly and missing resources are displayed in an overview from which materials can be recycled, refined or purchased. Embark emphasizes that this should allow players to spend less time in menus and more time in raids.
There are also new weapons, additional story content and cosmetic items. Here is an overview of the most important additions:
- New major map condition category: ARC Operations
- New flying ARC enemy type: Vaporizer
- Two new weapons: the Canto SMG and the Dolabra energy shotgun
- New gadget: Surge Coil
- New project: High Gain Antenna
- Scrappy Feeding Boost: Scrappy’s loot behavior can now be influenced through feeding
- Spreading Shredders as a new threat on the map
- Revised crafting system with more convenience functions
- New cosmetic sets
Embark continues to win over the community
Reactions in the Reddit thread about the update are clearly positive. The crafting improvements in particular are being widely praised. One much-noticed comment simply describes the changes as “fantastic.” The new Scrappy feature as well as the increased threat from new enemies and map conditions have also been well received. Overall, the comments give the impression that many players see Embark as attentive and responsive.
The mix of new content, added threats and noticeable quality-of-life improvements appears to be resonating well with the community. All signs suggest that ARC Raiders is set to stay on course with the Flashpoint update – not least thanks to a development team that clearly listens to community feedback and takes player requests seriously.
