Recently, some posters have allegedly leaked from the Huawei brand Honor, and may indicate that it is planning a Lite addition to its 9X series. Now, some new Geekbench listings that may be related to these hints have emerged. On the other hand, the specs indicated in these benchmark database entries are very similar to those of a pre-existing device.
Honor's supposedly leaked posters suggest that the 9X Lite has a modern rectangular rear camera hump paired to a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. It was followed by alleged store listings for several variants of the same phone, which went by the model numbers JSN-L21 to L23. One of these, the JSN-L22, has recently emerged on Geekbench 5.
Unfortunately, this is where this leak falls down. The results show that this phone has 4GB of RAM and has an SoC with properties that match those of the Kirin 710. These are also present in the pre-existing Honor 8X - as is the model number. Therefore, this phone is probably not the rumored 9X Lite. However, this story has an interesting twist: the OS indicated in the new listings.
Some of them specify Android 9.0 (Pie), which is not unusual as the 8X has been stuck on an EMUI version based on this for some time. However, some others replace it with Android 10, which may give new hope that this phone's new software upgrade will be out of beta soon. Indeed, some reports indicate that this stable update is available to install in certain markets.
