Honor has reportedly teased an upcoming successor to its 20S smartphone in a rather unique way: via soft-drinks label. An image of a new phone has appeared on Sprite bottles allegedly sold in China. They also bear the product name "30S", as well as some text that appears to promote the 5G nature of the phone.
The 20S is a mid-range version of the original Honor 20, with the Kirin 810 SoC in place of the flagship-grade 980, and 3 rear cameras in place of 4. Therefore, the 30S may stand to be powered by the rumored Kirin 820, which could indeed bring 5G to mid-range Honor or Huawei phones.
The atypical new leak does not hint at a launch date or price for the putative phone. However, it may have been approved by TENAA already. In addition, an executive for the mobile device brand in question has reportedly been using an unidentified Android phone on Weibo, another possible hype-building marketing trick that may also be for the 30S' benefit. Therefore, its release may not be too far away.
