Once again, itch.io is offering a bundle full of gaming stuff for a good cause. After the "Help For Ukraine" bundle a few years ago, the "California Fire Relief Bundle" is directed at victims of the recent fire disaster in California. Aside from minor processing fees, all proceeds will go to CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), a non-profit organization from Los Angeles that provides support to surivors of acute crises and aims to promote in rebuilding efforts. All in all, another good cause, even if the sheer amount of content is quite overwhelming. Arguably, most buyers of the "Help For Ukraine" bundle are unlikely to have seen, played or read all of its content.
What's in the California Fire Relief Bundle?
The bundle contains 189 board games, of which the templates can be printed and cut out, nineteen game assets, seventeen digital books, four digital comics, two tools, a mod and three miscellaneous items. The PC games are likely to be the most interesting for most people. There are a total of 187, some for multiple systems: 167 for Windows, 87 for MacOS, 65 for Linux, five for Android and 11 that can be played directly in the browser.
Highlights of the bundle include the Zelda-like game Tunic, the cooking simulation Cook, Serve, Delicious 2, the farming simulation Before The Green Moon, the puzzle-platforming game Hoa, the JRPG Fallen Legion: Rise To Glory, the physics comedy Octodad: Dadliest Catch, the skateboard simulation SkateBird (a kind of Tony Hawks Pro Skater with a bird), the 2D horror adventure Whispering Willows, the historically accurate Assassination 1942 (a visual novel), the cat destruction simulator Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered and many more. If you want to browse before you buy, you can do so using various filters. However, at $10 for a good cause, this bundle is a real no-brainer regardless of whether you actually end up playing all the games included or not. Lastly, buyers can donate more than $10 if they wish.
