There might be a great deal on Steam for fans of tactical co-op shooters. Right now, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is available for just $4 instead of $20, thanks to an 80% discount.

Released by Ubisoft on December 1, 2015, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege overcame a rough start to become one of the most popular tactical multiplayer shooters. According to SteamDB, it currently ranks 23rd among the most-played games and consistently attracts over 80,000 concurrent players.

In Siege, players face off in 5v5 battles, taking on the role of either attackers or defenders. Unlike Counter-Strike, which follows a "terrorists vs. special forces" setup, this game pits elite units against each other. Teams consist of various counterterrorism and military special forces, known as operators. Each operator has unique abilities and specialized gear, shaping both strategy and gameplay.

Attackers in Siege have a clear objective, typically rescuing a hostage or defusing a bomb, while defenders must secure the area and stop them. To do this, they can barricade doors and windows with wooden panels or reinforce walls with metal plates. A range of gadgets, including barbed wire, traps and cameras, adds to their defensive options. What makes the game unique is its destructible environment – walls, floors and ceilings can be breached, meaning no spot is truly safe. With only one life per round, every decision matters. A single mistake can lead to an early elimination, leaving players to watch the rest of the match as spectators.

Over one million ratings

Rainbow Six Siege is popular for its tactical, team-based gameplay and impressive depth. The wide range of operators and complex, destructible maps offer countless strategic possibilities, with a constantly evolving meta that keeps players on their toes. However, the game's many mechanics can make it challenging for newcomers to get into.

Matchmaking can sometimes be frustrating and Ubisoft's aggressive monetization through microtransactions and battle passes has drawn criticism. Despite this, the game's ratings remain strong. On Steam, Rainbow Six Siege has amassed over 1.15 million reviews, with 84% being positive. On Metacritic, it holds a Metascore of 79 and a User Score of 7.0.

80% discount on Steam

Until March 13, Rainbow Six Siege is available on Steam at an 80% discount, reducing the price from $20 to $4. The Deluxe Edition is $6 instead of $30, the Operator Edition drops to $28 from $70 and the Ultimate Edition is now $40 instead of $90. The Deluxe Edition includes the base game and 16 Operators from Years 1 and 2. Players looking for a broader selection may prefer the Operator Edition, which unlocks all 50 Operators from Years 1 to 8. The Ultimate Edition offers the same content but also includes the Disruptor Cosmetic Pack with exclusive skins.

Ubisoft publisher promotion: The deal is part of a major Ubisoft sale, with discounts of up to 85% on various AAA titles, including Far Cry 3 and Anno 1800.
