Deal | 32 GB RAM for $853: Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura brings MacBook-level endurance without $1,900+ price
In today's market ravaged by sky-high RAM and storage prices, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a highly rated Windows laptop with 32 GB of RAM for less than $1,000. However, Best Buy is now selling an "Open Box" Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition laptop with 32 GB of RAM for just $853, 44% lower than the list price of a box-pack brand-new unit. For reference, Apple is currently selling the M4 MacBook Air 13 with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for a whopping $1,999. So, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition laptop, which is in like-new condition, is more than $1,000 cheaper than the brand-new MacBook Air M4.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition on sale packs a Core Ultra 7 258V APU, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB of storage, and a 15.3-inch touch-sensitive IPS display. The whole system is powered by a 70 Wh battery. There is also Intel Wi-Fi 7.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i 15 Aura Edition on sale was the first Intel Lunar Lake laptop in our lab. More than a year later, the Yoga Slim 7i 15 Aura Edition has aged gracefully with a sturdy build, solid inputs, and a good display. Despite being an IPS panel, the 3K/120 Hz LCD achieved complete sRGB/DCI-P3 coverage and 500 nits of brightness in our testing. The panel also impressed with accurate colors out of the box.
Our review also noted that, although the raw CPU performance is not anything special, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is more than fast enough for day-to-day tasks. The integrated Arc 140V is also pretty speedy for a low-power iGPU. So, gaming is possible on the iGPU. Thankfully, Lenovo has made sure that the Yoga Slim 7i 15 Aura runs cool and quiet, as we measured practically zero fan noise during routine operation and no thermal issues.
Finally, and perhaps most impressively, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura is frugal when it comes to power use. Combined with the Intel Panther Lake-level efficiency of the Core Ultra 7 258V and the 70 Wh battery, the laptop lasted over 17 hours in our Wi-Fi websurfing test.
Now, not everything is perfect with the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition. For instance, the laptop lacks an SD card reader (get one on Amazon), and the 2 MP is just serviceable at best. However, for an average consumer who just needs a solid, everyday multimedia Windows laptop that can comfortably last a workday on a single charge, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura on sale is well worth looking into.
