Deal | 1.2 million reviews: Hyped action RPG (96% positive) cheaper than ever on Steam

Chinese mythology, challenging combat, and striking visuals – that’s the formula behind one of 2024’s biggest hits. In Black Myth: Wukong, players step into the role of the “Destined One,” a hero inspired by the legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong. The journey unfolds in a dark fantasy interpretation of ancient China, drawing heavily from the classic novel Journey to the West.
At the heart of Black Myth: Wukong are intense battles against powerful demon bosses. Combat revolves around the iconic staff, which proves far more versatile than it initially appears. Landing hits builds energy that can be unleashed in devastating special moves. As you progress, you unlock a variety of magical abilities and transformations. You can briefly freeze enemies, summon clones to distract or attack, or even assume the form of fallen foes and wield their powers. Precise dodging is essential for survival, leading to frequent comparisons with Soulslike games.
Alongside Astro Bot, Black Myth: Wukong is one of the most talked-about games of 2024. While it didn’t take home any trophies at The Game Awards, it secured several honors at Valve’s Steam Awards. The action RPG has amassed more than 1.2 million reviews on Steam and holds an impressive 96% "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating – a clear testament to its popularity. Given that success, it’s hardly surprising that developer Game Science has been reluctant to offer discounts. Now, however, the game has finally reached a new all-time low price.
25% discount on Steam
Black Myth: Wukong typically sells for $60 on Steam and was last discounted during the 2025 Summer Sale. Now, it’s finally on sale again – Game Science is offering 25% off, marking a new all-time low according to SteamDB. The action RPG is currently available for around $45, with the offer running until February 23. Players who prefer gaming on a handheld PC should note that Steam lists the game as “Not Supported” on the Steam Deck (available on Amazon for $650). According to reports, it is technically playable on the handheld, but only with limitations.
