Xiaomi prepares to upgrade another 12 devices to Android 11, including the Mi A3
Xiaomi is preparing to upgrade up to a dozen handsets to Android 11, according to a new report by Xiaomi & MIUI News on Telegram. Cited by the likes of Adimorah Blog and Piunikaweb, the Telegram channel also published a list last month of Xiaomi devices that would receive Android 11 - as we reported at the time.
The Mi A3 is apparently one of the devices that Xiaomi is on the verge of upgrading, with it having presumably successfully completed internal testing of the new OS. Android 11 will probably the last OS upgrade for the device, as Xiaomi released it on Android 9.0 Pie last year. The Mi A3 is unique among Xiaomi smartphones though, as it will be the only one to receive Android 11 on the Android One program. There will be no more major updates for the Mi A1, Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite, for example, while Xiaomi is yet to release another Android One-branded handset since the Mi A3.
The dozen devices that are next in line for Android 11 are as follows:
- Mi 10 Lite Zoom
- Mi 10 Youth
- Mi A3
- Mi CC9 Pro
- Mi Note 10
- Mi Note 10 Pro
- Poco M2 Pro
- Poco X2
- Redmi K30
- Redmi K30i 5G
- Redmi Note 9 Pro Global
- Redmi Note 9 Pro Max
It is unclear when Xiaomi plans to upgrade these devices to Android 11. However, the speed with which Xiaomi upgrades its devices suggests that it will be within the next month or so.
