Xiaomi quietly unveils the Mi Watch Lite with a square design and up to 9 days of battery life
Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi Watch Lite, albeit in an unusually quiet fashion. The company has published a few posts on its global social media channels, for example, but it has updated its Mi Blog to reflect the release of the smartwatch. The price and availability of the Mi Watch Lite remain unknown, though. The Redmi Watch, of which the Mi Watch Lite is a relative, sells for CNY 299 (~US$45) in China, which be indicative of the latter's global pricing.
Nonetheless, the Mi Watch Lite is now official. According to Xiaomi, the smartwatch has a 1.4-inch square display that operates natively at 320 x 320 pixels. A 230 mAh battery powers the display, which Xiaomi claims yields up to 9 days of battery life. Naturally, there Xiaomi has caveated that battery life claim, though. Apparently, battery life 'may vary based on actual usage', which probably means up to 9 days with the device's location, heart rate and sleep tracking disabled.
The Mi Watch Lite is also water resistant up to 5 ATM and comes with 11 sports modes from which to choose. Additionally, Xiaomi has pre-loaded over 120 watch faces that integrate emojis. According to the global product listing, the Mi Watch Lite will eventually be available in the following colours:
- Black
- Ivory
- Olive
- Navy blue
- Pink
