OPPO released the Reno 4 Pro a couple of months ago. Surprisingly, the company is already lining up a direct successor to that device—the OPPO Reno 5 Pro+—and specs of that device have now surfaced in the wild ahead of launch.
According to leakster Digital Chat Station, the OPPO Reno 5 Pro+ will sport a 6.55-inch 1080p display. OPPO has been on top of the sub-premium display game for while now, so it’s no surprise that the panel in question is a 90 Hz AMOLED. Under the hood will be a Snapdragon 865, not a Snapdragon 700-series chipset as one would expect.
At the rear of the OPPO Reno 5 Pro+ will be a new 50 MP sensor made by Sony. That sensor will be aided by a 16 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 13 MP telephoto camera, and a 2 MP macro camera. At the front will be a 32 MP camera. Other specifications include a 4500 mAh battery and 65 W charging.
The presence of a Snapdragon 865 on a phone that will almost definitely be marketed as an affordable flagship phone places the OPPO Reno 5 Pro+ in esteemed company, surrounded by phones like the OnePlus 8T, Galaxy S20 FE, and Mi 10T Pro. The latter of the three, in particular, will probably be the biggest rival to the Reno 5 Pro+.
