The Redmi Note 9S and Mi 10 Ultra are now receiving Android 11
Xiaomi has rolled out the Android 11 update to a number of its smartphones, including the Poco X2 and the Mi Note 10 Lite. The company is now also sending out the OTA to a Redmi mid-range phone for the first time, in the form of the Redmi Note 9S.
The OTA lands on the Redmi Note 9S with the build designation "MIUI 12.0.1.0 RJWMIXM". That shows it's the very first Android 11 update for the phone and is being sent out to the global version of the Redmi Note 9S. Similar to the updates for the Mi Note 10 Lite and Poco X2, the OTA weighs 2.3 GB.
The Redmi Note 9S isn't the only Xiaomi device receiving Android 11, though. The Mi 10 Ultra, Xiaomi's top of the line phone for 2020, is now also getting the update. Of course, the Mi 10 Ultra was only ever sold in China, so the update is rolling out to the one and only Chinese model, with build number "MIUI 12.1.1.0 RJJCNXM". The OTAs for both devices are still in the stable beta stage, so it'll take a while for all owners to start getting the updates.
