Xiaomi outlines Redmi Note 12 series release window with major innovations on the horizon

Xiaomi has started teasing the Redmi Note 12 series, nearly a year after debuting Redmi Note 11 smartphones. Predictably, Xiaomi has not revealed many details about its upcoming smartphones yet. However, JD.com recently hinted that there could be up to four devices on the table, such as the Redmi Note 12 Extreme Edition.

As expected, Xiaomi will announce the Redmi Note 12 series in November. Unfortunately, the company has not outlined a price release date yet, although we imagine that it will confirm a hardware launch event before announcing the smartphones themselves. Also, it is worth noting that Xiaomi has only commenced its teaser campaign on Chinese social media. If the Redmi Note 11 series is anything to go by, other markets could be left waiting until early 2023 before they see the Redmi Note 12 series.

Currently, Xiaomi and Lu Weibing have confirmed that the Redmi Note 12 series will showcase 'two major technologies', including a world first. Presumably, the latter refers to Xiaomi's new fast charging technology, which is though to deliver up to 210 W of power over a wired connection. As it stands, Xiaomi's smartphones peak at 120 W, which fully recharge almost all their batteries in under 20 minutes. Potentially, Xiaomi may equip one Redmi Note 12 series member with a 200 MP camera too, mirroring the Xiaomi 12T Pro, as well as the new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset.
