Xiaomi has launched two new 82-inch Mi Master Series smart TVs in China. The 4K model is priced at 9,999 yuan (US$1,466) and comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate and MEMC. The 8K “Extreme Anniversary Edition” utilizes a mini-LED panel and delivers double the brightness of the cheaper TV, and it costs a hefty 49,999 yuan (US$7,326).

Xiaomi has expanded its Mi Master Series of smart TVs with two new 82-inch models. The 4K device, which considering its size and specs is very reasonably priced at 9,999 yuan (US$1,466), offers DCI-P3 color-space coverage of 93% and a brightness level of 1,000 nits. It is fitted with a MediaTek 9650 chip and also has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage onboard. Buyers will get to utilize the new MIUI for TV 3.0 software on this 82-inch 4K Xiaomi Mi Master TV that features an advanced LED panel.

Along with image-smoothing MEMC technology and a gaming-friendly 120 Hz refresh rate, the new Xiaomi Mi Master 4K TV also supports Dolby Vision and comes with HDMI 2.1 connectivity and 240 dimming zones. Released on its own, it would be a potential headliner, but this 4K giant has to take a backseat to the 8K “Extreme Anniversary Edition” of the 82-inch Mi Master TV. For 49,999 yuan (US$7,326), buyers get a TV with a mini-LED panel, 2,000 nits brightness, and the same 120 Hz refresh rate and MEMC technology as the 4K variant.

On top of that, the Extreme Anniversary model delivers 5G connectivity, 98% DCI-P3 color-gamut coverage, and 960 backlight partitions. The smart tech consists of a Novatek72685 processor along with 4 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. HDMI 2.1 and USB 3.0 support is present, and the 82-inch Xiaomi Extreme Anniversary Edition TV boasts a 10-bit panel for displaying 1.07 billion colors. This advanced 8K device is expected to be made available for sale on October 21, and it seems unlikely that Xiaomi will launch either of these huge TVs outside of China at the moment.
