The Xiaomi Mi A3 receives a new update as Android 11 development begins
The Xiaomi Mi A3 has received another update, this time in Europe. Xiaomi has called the latest update V11.0.8.0.QFQEUXM, denoting that is based on MIUI 11 and Android 10. However, the Mi A3 is one of the company's Android One handsets, so it follows a different development path to those than run on its in-house MIUI.
Xiaomi stresses that it is rolling out V11.0.8.0.QFQEUXM in tiers, so your device may not yet be eligible to download it just yet. The OTA is only a 19 MB download though, so we doubt that Xiaomi has changed much from V11.0.6.0.QFQEUXM, the last build to reach the device. Nonetheless, you can download the OTA or recovery ROM via the links below should you wish to install V11.0.8.0.QFQEUXM manually.
Additionally, Piunikaweb has got wind that Xiaomi has started testing Android 11 on the Mi A3. Android One handsets typically receive two OS updates, so the release of the Mi A3 on Android 9.0 Pie on would suggest that Android 11 will be the end of the road for the device. It is unclear when the Mi A3 will start receiving Android 11, but we shall keep you updated when timescales for the release of the OS update become clearer.
