Xiaomi has expanded its AIoT range by launching a new Electric Scooter 5 Max e-scooter at MWC 2025 in Barcelona. The new sibling in the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 series, which includes the Electric Scooter 5 and 5 Pro, comes with a similar minimal design look with a classy black shade and hidden wiring and kickstand. Alongside the e-scooter, Xiaomi also launched the new Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro, Buds 5 Pro (WiFi), Watch S4, and Smart Band 9 Pro in its AIoT portfolio.
Like the Electric Scooter 5 Pro, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Max boasts a powerful 1000 W rear-wheel motor that can deliver speeds up to 20 kph (~12.4 mph) and helps it tackle inclines up to 22%. Plus, Xiaomi also added a Traction Control System (TCS) into the scooter to further enhance stability, especially on wet roads. The scooter weighs 22.3 kg (~49.1 lbs) and can support a payload of up to 120 kg (~264.5 lbs).
The 5 Max has a 477 Wh battery that the electronics maker claims enables you to ride for up to 60 km (~37 miles), and you can recharge the battery via a fast charger in 3 hours or 9 hours with the standard charger.
Furthermore, it has 10-inch tubeless fat tires with dual shock absorbers and a front dual hydraulic-spring and rear dual-spring suspension system, which ensures a comfortable ride. Xiaomi also packs a dual-braking system with a front drum and a rear electric brake.
Moreover, Xiaomi’s new e-scooter ships with a carbon steel body foldable design similar to the 5 Pro variant. There’s a multifunctional display at the front of the handlebars that showcases the speed and battery level of the scooter. Other features of the 5 Max include IPX5 water resistance for the scooter body, IPX6 for the battery pack, an automatic headlight, a red taillight, and an intelligent battery management system. You can also control the scooter via the Xiaomi Home app, available for both iOS and Android devices.
Available in black, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Max starts at €599.99. It will become available for purchase some time soon.
