The OnePlus 10 Pro is among the latest devices to have gone through the JerryRigEverything system of durability testing - and failed miserably. Now, the similarly-named 12 Pro has arrived on the same channel to face the same gauntlet. Can the new Xiaomi flagship outdo its OnePlus rival?

The Xiaomi 12 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro have a lot in common. Both 2022 flagship smartphones have the same SoC, the same LTPO 2.0 display, and have rear panels pointedly dominated by rear camera humps. This, then, may be why Zach Nelson decided to bring the 2 into contention during his most recent JerryRigEverything video.

The 12 Pro flew through every stage of this testing regime, including the scratches-at-a-level-6 and rear camera-razoring phases. Then again, the famous "burn test" resulted in a much more indelible white mark on its OLED display compared to other devices in the past.

In addition, 12 Pro owners might be advised that the Harmon Kardon branding found along one edge of the device for its quad stereo speakers is susceptible to concerted scraping with a razor blade, and, thus, possibly also heavy wear and tear over time.

Nevertheless, when it came to the bend test, the Xiaomi 12 Pro proved its worth over the 10 Pro in this particular area. It did emit worrying clicking noises every time it withstood an attempted bend from the back, yet stayed stubbornly in one (more or less flat) piece and with its screen on by the end of its inaugural JerryRigEverything video.
