Volkswagen has announced that the Pro S version of the ID.3 electric car can get from 0 to 62 miles per hour (mph) thanks to a more powerful motor. It also has some of the marque's latest infotainment and UI features, and can also charge faster with battery pre-conditioning. It can also be configured with a Harman Kardon sound system.
Volkswagen has also equipped its new Pro S with the new infotainment UI that might also feature in cars based on the new ID. CODE concept for the Chinese market, with a new ChatGPT integration to boot...although its actual dashboard screen still has touch sliders. Then again, it also has an "enhanced" heads-up display and the separate drive-mode steering wheel paddle of the ID.7.
A 12-channel 480W Harman Kardon system is also now an option for the ID.3 line in its Pro S iteration...as is the ability to "unlock" its motor upgrade from 150kW to 170kW - unless the buyer is in Germany, where the upgrade is standard.
The ID.3 Pro S is available to pre-order in Europe, at prices that might vary from country to country. However, all units available right now will have a 77kWh battery rated to get up to ~342 miles (559 kilometers) per charging session.
That aspect of its ownership might also improve thanks to a new DC charging rate that goes up to 175 kilowatts (kW), with the pre-conditioning that might address slowdowns in colder months.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
