Vivo has unveiled the X80 Pro in Europe, albeit without the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 option that it offers in China. Only one memory configuration and colour option will be offered too, with the Vivo X80 Pro set to hit the shelves next month with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of non-expandable storage.

Vivo has brought the X80 Pro to Europe, under two months since the device's introduction in China alongside the Vivo X80. However, the X80 Pro has gained a huge price uplift since its release in China, as well as jettisoning its Dimensity 9000 variant.

Specifically, Vivo has confirmed that the X80 Pro will be available for €1,299 in the Eurozone, €50 cheaper than the Galaxy S22 Ultra with the same amount of RAM and storage. In comparison, the X80 Pro starts at CNY 5,499 (~€783) with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. However, the equivalent Chinese configuration costs CNY 5,999 (~€854), which includes the same amount of storage but 12 GB of RAM.

Incidentally, various leakers claimed that the X80 Pro would launch for €1,099, including Roland Quandt. Separately, Vivo has decided to sell the X80 Pro in just Cosmic Black, leaving the more striking blue and orange colour options as Chinese exclusives. Elsewhere, the X80 Pro is the same 164.57 x 75.30 x 9.10 and 219 g handset that Vivo sells in China. Hence, it still has a 6.78-inch LTPO and AMOLED display that operates at 1440p and 120 Hz.

Also, Vivo supports the Samsung E5 display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 flash storage and a 4,700 mAh battery that it can recharge at up to 80 W. Unsurprisingly, the Vivo X80 Pro ships with Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12, plus the following cameras supported by its V1+ chip:

  • Primary camera: 50 MP, ISOCELL GNV, f/1.57, 23 mm, 85°, 1/1.31-inch, 1.2 μm, PDAF+OIS, 1G+6P Lens
  • Ultra-wide-angle camera: 48 MP, IMX598, f/2.2, 14 mm 114°/3.5 cm macro, 1/2-inch, 0.8 μm, PDAF, 6P Lens
  • Portrait camera: 12 MP, IMX663, f/1.85, 50 mm portrait, Gimbal+OIS, 1/2.93-inch, 1.22 μm, PDAF, 2x optical zoom, 6P Lens
  • Telephoto camera: 8 MP, f/3.4, 1/4.4-inch, 125 mm, 1.0 μm, PDAF+OIS, 5x optical zoom, 4P Lens, up to 60x digital zoom
  • Front-facing camera: 32 MP, f/2.45, 24 mm, 80°, 1/2.8-inch, 0.8 μm

Vivo will begin shipping the X80 Pro next month. Unfortunately, Vivo has not confirmed a specific launch date yet, nor whether it will offer any pre-order bonuses. Furthermore, it seems that Vivo has elected against offering the 512 GB SKU that it sells in China.
