Vivo's X90 series are thought to become the latest mobile photography-specific flagships from their Android brand during its next (and possibly last) major product event of 2022. Now, however, it seems this launch will be preceded by a press conference for the OEM's most cutting-edge camera tech to take place much sooner in the year.
This presentation, now touted to bring the "fun of creativity" to all, might thus introduce Vivo's latest in-house imaging hardware as well as AI techniques, not the least of which could be a next-gen ISP. This chipset, likely to launch as the V2, could feature in devices such as the potential "Galaxy S23-killing" X90 Pro+ flagship.
Then again, should that be the case, Vivo's new Weibo conference posters could conceivably bear Zeiss logos as an indicator that its current camera brand partner will have a presence at this show as it has done in previous years - however, those signature blue squares are nowhere to be seen.
Then again, it is too early to say whether this is a sign that the collaboration between the 2 parties will come to an end soon.
Nevertheless, whatever Vivo's emerging "imaging strategy" proves to be, the OEM asserts that photos taken as a result will be "amazing". Accordingly, the first sample shots to back this claim up may be officially unveiled on October 24, 2022.
