Vivo has long been rumored to be launching its flagship foldable phone for the year this month. Said foldable, the Vivo X Fold5, has now received an official launch date confirming those rumors.
As shared by Vivo on Weibo, the X Fold5 is scheduled to make its official debut in less than two weeks—on June 25, to be exact. The Vivo X Fold5 will launch as something of a rival to the Honor Magic V5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, albeit with one slight caveat. Unlike the other two which will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the X Fold5 will be powered by the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Chipset fumbles aside, the Vivo X Fold5 is rumored to launch with top-of-the-line hardware. Vivo is marketing the foldable as being lighter, thinner, and yet stronger than previous models, while the rumor mill indicates the X Fold5 will feature three 50 MP rear cameras and two 32 MP selfie snappers in addition to a 6,000 mAh battery and 90 W wired charging. The X Fold5 will be available in three color options at least too, with White, Pine, and Titanium all confirmed.
