Sony's latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1, started sales in the US for a price of US$949. It is also available in the EU and UK. Now, it has also been released in China, where it retails for a price translating to about $912.

The Sony Xperia 1 is the OEM's new flagship for this year. It has only 1 variant, which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB in fixed storage. With these specs, not to mention a battery capacity that doesn't even break 4000mAh, it may not seem that special in 2019. However, it is possible that Sony believes the 21:9 aspect-ratio of its 4K screen and triple 2x-zoom rear camera can make up for that.

The Xperia 1 is not a hugely common phone worldwide. Outside of its native Japan, it is sold in the US, UK and some EU countries. In the former, it retails for US$949 on Amazon. Sony sells it on its own website in certain EU countries such as Germany and the UK, where it is €949 ($1069) and £849 ($1079) respectively. Now, it is also sold in China, via JD.com.

This site currently lists the phone for 6299 yuan (~$912). However, it does not seem to come with the extras it might have in other regions. For example, it comes with a free wallet-style case in a matching color in Germany, whereas the first 130 UK customers to order got a free pair of WH-1000XM3 headphones with their purchase of an Xperia 1.
