The OnePlus Nord may have five cameras including a 48 MP sensor; probable placeholder retailer listing has people talking
OnePlus is set to announce the Nord on July 21, as we reported yesterday. The company has just released the latest part of its "New Beginnings" documentary on its @oneplus.nord Instagram page too in advance of its second pre-order event tomorrow. Now, Android Central claims to have received information from an "OnePlus insider" about the Nord's camera hardware.
Previously, it had been thought that the device would feature a 64 MP primary sensor. However, Android Central claims that OnePlus has opted for a 48 MP sensor instead. There is no word on what sensor will be present, though. Augmented this 48 MP camera will be an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5 MP macro sensor and a 2 MP portrait camera. There will be 32 MP and 8 MP front-facing cameras, too.
Separately, Romanian retailer evoMAG.ro has published a listing for the OnePlus Nord. The retailer has priced the device at RON 2,229.99, which equates to ~US$521 and ~€461 at present exchange rates. OnePlus has stated that the Nord will retail for under US$500 in the US though, so this may well be placeholder pricing. The retailer has also posted a specification sheet, but it appears to have been cobbled together from previous rumours. Similarly, the render of the device is just the one presented by @OnLeaks and 91Mobiles in December.
Unsurprisingly, people have been quick to dismiss the listing. Teased photos of the OnePlus Nord have suggested that the renders presented by @OnLeaks and 91Mobiles are not far off from the final design.
