After weeks of beta testing, Xiaomi has finally released the stable builds of HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 for the first batch of phones. It includes six flagships in the Xiaomi 15 series and Redmi K80 lineup, and it’s coming first to the Chinese models, with global units set to follow later this month.
If you’re rocking a Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, 15S Pro, 15 Ultra, or a Redmi K80 Pro / Ultra with a Chinese ROM, keep an eye out for an OTA update in the coming days. This is a phased rollout, meaning only a small percentage of phones will receive the update initially. If things go smoothly, the rollout will be gradually expanded to more units over the following weeks.
The update weighs between 7.5GB and 8GB and you can find the build numbers below (courtesy XiaomiTime):
- Xiaomi 15 (OS3.0.2.0.WOCCNXM)
- Xiaomi 15 Pro (OS3.0.3.0.WOBCNXM)
- Xiaomi 15S Pro (OS3.0.4.0.WODCNXM)
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra (OS3.0.2.0.WOACNXM)
- Redmi K80 Pro (OS3.0.2.0.WOMCNXM)
- Redmi K80 Ultra (OS3.0.2.0.WONCNXM)
HyperOS 3 brings a multitude of new features and enhancements to the table, and it even includes a replica of the iPhone’s Dynamic Island in the form of Xiaomi Hyperland, as well as an iOS 16-style lockscreen. Xiaomi is also promising a serious boost to performance and smoothness with under-the-hood optimizations to the kernel and graphics rendering pipeline. On supported models, the new software also brings AI-powered writing tools, speech recognition, and smart translation features. On top of that, users can look forward to Android 16-specific changes like better notification grouping, Live Updates, the predictive back gesture, as well as security enhancements like Trade-in Mode and Advanced Protection.
Xiaomi had promised a stable update for these devices by October 15, so the HyperOS 3 rollout appears right on schedule. Global users won’t have to wait too much either, as the company has promised to bring the stable update to more than 15 Xiaomi and Redmi devices between October and November, and it will include popular models like the Redmi Note 14 series, POCO F7 series, and POCO X7 / X7 Pro.
