Samsung is still expected to launch its first tri-foldable smartphone before the end of the year. An alternative to the Huawei Mate XT and now the Mate XTs, the so-called Galaxy G Fold or Galaxy Z TriFold may be available globally too. However, recent rumours suggest that Samsung will be holding out until late October or early November before unleashing its first tri-folding smartphone.
In the meantime, @TechHighest has posted a slew of official-looking short videos on its X account. Embedded below, the videos indicate that the Galaxy Z TriFold will be more than just a Galaxy Z Fold7 with an extra display (curr. $1,669 - refurbished on Amazon). In fact, the tri-fold's superior productivity and multitasking features may extend to a built-in DeX mode like the Galaxy Tab S11 or Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
Moreover, the Galaxy Z TriFold will offer conventional smartphone multitasking features like split screen and floating app windows. Unfortunately, S Pen compatibility is said to be lacking. Nonetheless, the Galaxy Z TriFold may support digital 100x camera zoom just like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Incidentally, the Galaxy Z Fold7 tops out at 30x digital zoom. Please see the videos below for more details.
