The latest member of the Samsung Galaxy F series is reportedly getting a new design, as render images (embedded below) from SmartPrix show. The mid-range smartphone can be seen in silver, orange, turquoise, dark green and black, each with a subtle color gradient that gives the device a fresh look. Interestingly, the Galaxy F06 does not have the "Key Island", the bulge on the right-hand side of the frame where the volume and lock buttons are located on many current Samsung mid-range smartphones.
The main new feature is the pill-shaped camera module, which houses two lenses. This design is already known from leaks of the Samsung Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56, and Samsung appears to be completely abandoning the individual cameras in the housing, as was the usual design over the past few years. No further details on the features, price or launch date of the Samsung Galaxy F06 are yet known, but according to SmartPrix, the mid-range smartphone is based on the hardware of the Galaxy A06.
According to the report, Samsung is installing an 8 MP selfie camera that sits in a notch in the 6.7-inch IPS panel. The display is said to only reach 720p+ resolution, while the camera module on the back is expected to house a 50 MP main camera and a barely useful 2 MP camera. The 5,000 mAh battery is said to be charged with up to 25 watts via a USB-C charging cable. The smartphone's memory can reportedly be expanded via a dedicated microSD card reader.
